Release Codenames

Here's a thread for wild speculation about release codenames.
Latest versions of the 0x10c source code feature the following line in Trillek.java:
public static final String GAME_RELEASE_CODENAME = "Montauk";

That is for 0x10c version 0.1.

Any ideas what the significance of the codename might be?

Google reveals that Montauk is a brand of sofas in Canada, but I don't think that's it. Maybe it's talking about that one place in New York or the Native American tribe. Though, this is questionable, considering Notch lives in Sweden. It doesn't seem to be a Swedish word, from what I can find. Perhaps it's a portmanteau? Just a thought.

Edit: Darn, Veebliez beat me Yes, that one seems more likely. But, if it's in reference to psychological experiments, what does that say about 0x10c?

Edit 2: I'm calling it; 0x10c is all a cryogenically-induced dream like that one movie with Tom Cruise.

Well, if it is to do with the Montauk project, then it could be either something to do with the frequencies on the wiki article, or an anagram of the dates which form another date.

Humm.. Wild speculation.. So..
Cheking this article in Wikipedia we see it was last modified on 29 October 2011. There we have a date.. a near date =D
It´s not THAT wild but..

Edit: Actually, I can replace that link with this new one. It´s even more coincident with 'Montauk' and also a day earlier!
I don´t want my soul to be harvested! :cry:

Actually going back to Montauk in New York that is nicknamed "The End", could have a reference to the dimension called "The End" in Minecraft. Right?
